Unfortunately, pre-Parnell IS a long time ago, though it seems like yesterday!

It wasn’t criticised for being a reshell it was flagged up for being a totally different car than the ‘59 logbook that was stuck to it.

For the asking price you'd think the seller would sort out some decent photos. I know not everyone is that tech savy, but it's easy enough to get someone to help on that score.Exminiman wrote: ↑Sat Jul 10, 2021 6:05 pm Another S …………MK2 for £25K

There are two things that put me off any used car that is for sale .. Hide the Number Plate ( so i cannot check its DVLA MOT History) & POA

Alright, couldn't quite recall what all the kerfuffle was about Pete and it's not currently listed for sale, but as I'd unearthed a hand written note passed to me by the owner in Wick Lane, Christchurch some years ago thought I'd pass it on. It was merely intended as a pointer for anyone who is interested to help with finding where 'the bodies are buried' (So to speak)

Looks like a South African car judging by the little red reflectors on the back. Also small holes under headlamps where the white one would be on the front.Exminiman wrote: ↑Sun Jul 11, 2021 8:20 am 66 Traveller, for £3295 looks pretty complete, were they all dry ?

That's a great project. Really digging those Aus/SA spec doors.

1275GT ringing kit... But *** 777L is a pretty distinctive registration number.

“A real barn find” Mk3 S
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/224531977796 ... SwH~Ng7HDZ
I was sent pictures of this and the other cars mentioned in this highly misleading ad last year as this seller was looking for advice on them. This one still has its original Mini1000 commission number on it and has a made up chassis number I presume because it was built from a kit of parts by a previous owner. I think I’m right in saying when built your own car from parts you could just make up your own chassis number back then to register it, though the logbook usually said it was built up from parts. DVLC would also put Cooper S on your logbook should you apply but the missing part was always a Cooper S chassis number! Doesn’t quite tie up with the description and still a few nice bits on it.
