Maybe created by a Mr Wayne Cooper who worked at the local Kwikfit?

I'd heard it was Wayne Carr who built that

I've offered to view the 970 as apparently it is in Wick I don't think they expected me to view!!
(come to that neither did I because its a bit North of me in Somerset)
Cock and bull story about death and illness etc. etc.
I'm still on the trail but in touch with ebay about progress, so far they seem powerless to stop this scam at the moment but now gathering evidence.
Just ask to view before purchase and see what happens then report it via messaging on ebay.
Keeps the seller busy !!

I think I might have put the correct 4 vent sills on this and put it back to hydro . Other than that quite nice but...: (i) wrong heater control panel (should have the bright alloy edge); (ii) wrong eyeball vents (should be chrome); (iii) Newton interior and carpet with double heel mat; (iv) bonnet stay -according to the description - is on the wrong side (left) - it should be on the right on such an early car; (v) wrong bonnet and hinges (the hinges should bolt up into captive nuts in the bonnet; (vi) wrong interior mirror (should be the standard grey plastic Wingard type; (vii) ? should have no holes and grommets in the inner wings but can't see this from the photos...

Didn't think the 1275GT had twin carbs.

Indeed not (although twin HS4s were available as a "Pluspac" option from Special Tuning. Servo front bracket also looks wrong...

Re carbs, there were a few different plus pacs for the GT, one did have twin hs2s, but I doubt if those are original period items.

I think the car looks a bit iffy, maybe the photos, but the car looks very white indeed, to bright for glacier, and the side stripes are horrid in size, placement and colour. They should be red.

I agree on the side stripes - should be red on a glacier white car

Top of the market, but it not quite there, should be safe to say its a re-shell, which in its self is not an issue for me, but as others have mentioned, you might make an effort to get bonnet stay and sills right etc….……if you are expecting that price…..

As a side issue id there actually any difference between a GT shell and standard Clubman , apart from holes for servo fixings…..? Ie can you single out a GT shell ?

For the early ones - boot board brackets, different body number.
Don't think the later ones were any different though

Whoever does these scams just hacks someone’s account each time, so it’s impossible for EBay to keep up. They just find an account with an easily guessable password each time they want to do it and post up the same adverts every time. An old GT I had is a regular one they use. Of course they’re relying on people to send deposits which they must be having some success with.
