1960 Morris Mini Minor in Sweden

Post by MMM1960 »

Hi,

This is my Morris Mini Minor, original registration 2046 VF, which was first sold in October 1960 in the Norfolk region (by Kennings). I am the 6th owner.

I exported the car to Sweden in November 2020, and now I changed the headlamps to LHD versions I took it for the registration inspection. Am currently waiting for my plates and papers so I can get out and enjoy some summer driving.

It has had an engine and gearbox rebuild and has been repainted in the past, but is otherwise largely original.

Looks good 8-) I think I went to see that car when it was for sale. It had some fog/spot lights fitted where the holes are visible in the front panel and a few other period extras but I reckon it is the same car.
Have fun with it!

Thanks! :D

It did indeed! The fog lamps, reversing lamp, and Les Leston steering wheel (plus personal plate TMO 870) were not included in the sale. I've since bought a Styla wheel from Kees which will be fitted soon.

Yes, that's the car. It had all those nice bits on it when I viewed. Unfortunately, there were some negatives as well and I decided not to proceed but it certainly had the potential to be a lovely car.

It's not concourse for sure, but that's part of the charm for me.

There are a few things to sort over time - overall I'm really pleased and it drives really well :D

Looks lovely, any more photos to share? I'd not worry about concours as long as it's tidy and presentable you can use it without worrying about it too much. Concours cars have their place and are lovely to see at a show but having to trailer them there defeats the purpose of classic car ownership for me. Drive it and enjoy it 😁
