Motorsport for the amateur should be multi discipline and the cage in Derek's GTM was constructed to get a "certificate/passport" for "Rallying with Group B" and "Rallying History" events which is why he needs a co driver :D Since the cage was added the car has competed in an International event on Spain.

I think we need to get Matt to carry success ballast.

Steve Harris was out in an old Hillclimb Mini of mine now owned by Jonathan Buncombe. Some very good times popped in by some of the rally boys I noticed! Really need to sort the classes out for next year and I’m certain there will be a next year and hopefully I’ll have a much bigger input and the things that sucked will be put right. I think the event was well supported by the Hillclimb community, the rally lads, but I’d like to have seen more racers out who were very vocal in their support when I announced the idea on Facebook a few months back but completely evaporated when it came to it. Very disappointing. Nice to see the Slark’s out in their racers though. Sadly Neil McArthur had to withdraw with SZJ3 aswell unfortunately.

I’m keeping my powder dry on plans for next year ;) but feel free to add your suggestions if you have any.

Yes I am a nerd: I am researching the Austrian Mini-racing scene of the 60s and 70s :ugeek:

I’m not sure if you thought I was taking the ‘P’ I wasn't. I was just having some fun with you about the navigator whilst discussing Hillclimb. Im aware of their road rallying and demonstrations.

I’m sorry if it came across that way.

I’ve known Derick and Nick for about 20ish years, yes they are members of the ‘slowly sideways group’ if I remember correctly, aswell as members of this forum too.
I introduced both of them to Richard Hudson Evans the original builder and race driver of their (CCC) Cox. Richard helped with the early history of the car for them, and he too also entered some races in Blighty and on the continent including the 1970 Nurburgring 500km, he also very kindly donated the paperwork for that race to Derick.

If you would like to discuss this car more please pm me.
