Just think how proud its first owner was collecting and driving it away from the dealership!
"Get the wheels in line, Get the wheels in line with it! ..... and then slam your brakes on or we'll be in the cabin ! "

If that was today, I would expect that every useable or restorable part would have been stripped off it. And it looks like there was a fair bit that went to the skip!

Re: very rusty mini finds beyond saving
Back in the late 80s I cut up a clubman because it had failed mot on rear subframe, owner didn’t want it, so I had a few cuts out of the shell for my mk2 Cooper I was building, mainly because the panel quality back then was very poor so cuts from a shell were a better fit, think the interior lived on in another car, but that was about it. Wouldn’t even think about doing it now.

That's right Spoons........, if only! To think that while restoring mine back then, the amount of parts and units I binned because I could get new original Unipart parts at cost + 10% + VAT. A new roof, a one-hit pressing, was £13.
