Fuel tank grommets, wire and pipe routing

Post by gs.davies »

How should this go? I’ve got to get breather, supply and fuel pump wires through.. I’ve ordered a grommet but it was the wrong one (I got an oval one to covert to a single pipe..)

Braided tank to pump hose goes in rear hole with just a rubber sleeve over the hose (no grommet) the front one has a grommet through which the wires to the pump and the breather pipe passes through.

Make sure the rear hole is large enough to get a braided hose and sleeve through. My late 80’s Rover boot floor hole wasn’t so had to use a hole cutter to enlarge

I posted a pic on here recently of all the sealer used by the dealers too. Basically you end of with an oval of black stuff that seals both holes.

I’m on my phone so can’t find the link right now.
