Not so long ago it was one of the most interesting survivors, with a tremendous history. It has now been turned into a totally bland, badly put together travesty of a Mini Cooper S. The idiot that has ruined that wonderful car should be absolutely ashamed of themselves. From top to bottom it looks like it has been restored by a half wit!

Just look at the "quality" of the work carried out! I was managing to get a better door fit that this 30 years ago!
May I suggest the following Solomonic judgement:
  • Tar and feathered
  • A week on the Goodwood pillory
  • and finally 20 dives on the ducking stool
Only fair, for this sort of crime against Mini history
Yes I am a nerd: I am researching the Austrian Mini-racing scene of the 60s and 70s :ugeek:

Unusual automatic rally replica. Looks quite nice, those spotlamps look a bit vulnerable.

There's some work gone into that - not sure an Auto was the most inspired place to start.

I agree, but then there are those with a limited right foot mobility who might have to drive automatic. My aunt can't drive a manual comfortably due to hip problems she's had since having kids. So I guess if you have problems and want to get in on the whole Rally Mini look, why not eh. But I agree that for the general population it might be a bit of a non-starter.
Of course I know what a dipstick is, you get called something often enough you look it up!

Treated correctly the car would have been one of the most significant "survivors" with well known Rally & race history. It would have been well up there with cars like Peter's & not far off "Works" mini value. Now it has been wrecked it is nothing more than a very poor reshell job that anyone with half a brain would walk past without a flicker.

Just look at the "quality" of the work carried out! I was managing to get a better door fit that this 30 years ago!

No idea if the reshell was done in period or recently, someone here will know I’m sure, but yes the door fit and std of work is horrific, you would see better work done on a mini city worth £2k!

They do, but I'd be more worried about the vulnerability of the gearbox during a rally than the lamps :o

Looking at the pictures of the automatic rally car for sale, I hope AP fitted some sort of sump guard to theirs ;)

How would you know if this was genuine ?, the rear looks very shiny for an original 64 plate doesn't it ?, no oxidation at all.

Looks OK to me. Some didn't see much use & if it's been well stored, there is no reason it can't be a good one.

Have to agree, it doesn't look very aged and that car completed the Monte too.

Its just hard work reading the advert....also interesting how they think they can de-classify them selves as a distance seller....and so ignore buyers statutory rights....especially as they ask for a deposit....
