Do you think he would be better making contact here instead?

Dear admin folk,
"Here we are over a month after I asked to talk to some one about a project and I have still not got a phone number. I am super busy with my own email stuff and have, unfortunately, very limited time to visit all the forums, facebook pages, tweets etc. which I would like to visit. I need to do this nice and simple. Will someone on the admin staff email me on my email - not face book or any other - with a phone number I can contact them on. Time is marching on and the project I want to propose may simply vaporize due to lack of time. Can we please do it my way so this old guy here doesn't stumble too much in the effort to make something happen???"
David Vizard
Quote from DV's website below but not sure what the 'proposed project' above is or if connected:
"The UK seminar really got underway when David Mountain of Mountune Race Engines finally convinced DV he should come over and do a seminar in the UK where he still has probably the most fans. For those of you that may be unaware David Mountain is regarded as one of Europe’s most successful competition engine builders with literally thousands of major race wins to his credit. He is also David Vizard’s most successful protégé’. Read more about David Mountain here.
The plan so far is to hold a two evening, two day ‘How to build Horsepower’ seminar at Swansea university. Because of DV’s very substantial ‘A’ Series Mini following he will be reconfiguring some of the V8 orientated material presented to directly address the acquisition of power from ‘A’ Series engines. That does not mean to imply that conventional 2 valve and 4 valve engines will be catered for to a lesser degree. Apart from the seminar itself we are hoping to put on a commercial show with some 25 select prominent performance engine builders and parts suppliers show casing their products. Projected date has yet to be finalized but will almost certainly be in October 2012."
Attendee cost will be $550.00 (approximately £350.00 depending on daily exchange rate). Discounts will be available for those who turn up in an ‘A’ Series style Mini.

Some may remember DV's 'Mini Tech News' Technical monthly Newsletter for a few years back in the early 1980's before the days of monthly Mini magazines, I was 'Roving Editor' and still have every copy filed away along with the first edition of his 'Tuning the A-Series' book that he gave me.

Incredible news mab01uk, well spotted. http://www.davidvizardseminars.com/ue-Swansea-1012.html
Always liked David Vizard, and to hear he is turning up down the road from me next October is incredible news. Always respected him as an old fashion R & D engineer of old that went through the old fashion route of an on the job apprenticeship, which we do not produce enough of these days. Believe he started off working in the aerospace industry in old days, when it was much much bigger than it is today.

Is that a misprint ?mab01uk wrote: Attendee cost will be $550.00 (approximately £350.00 depending on daily exchange rate).

If it was Bill Gates you'd be talking tens of thousands of dollars, but I know who'd I prefer to hear.Pete wrote:Is that a misprint ?mab01uk wrote: Attendee cost will be $550.00 (approximately £350.00 depending on daily exchange rate).

Know well Swansea Metropolitan University on them building up in the last twenty years or so to one of the most respected course givers in motorsport engineering courses, with many many successful graduates,

Their workshops, if it is still in the same place, is on Mount Pleasant Hill in Swansea, one in five at least outside it.

DV (pronounced Vy-Zard) is a top Man. I spoke to him on the phone about 2 years ago in the US, for about 2 hours. Boy can he talk, but all fascinating stuff. After 2 hours, his US accent reverted to Gloucestershire as happens with ex pats. Told me all about his first tuning project, a 1390 cc Hillman Minx and how he near enough doubled it's 40 bhp.
'How to modify your Mini' has never been updated since it was completed in the mid seventies because his ex Mrs gets the royalties! That's fine because it's a great book just as it is.
Very knowledgeable and well worth listening and talking to. Recommended!
