Crypton BPL MKIII tachometer 8K

Post by Andrew850 »

Hello there!

I have recently purchased, totally unplanned, the abovecaptioned, which is just like the that one can be seen on this link - https://picclick.co.uk/Rare-Crypton-BPL ... 65102.html

I have never seen one like it and there is no info on the web about this type of Crypton tacho.

I only came across a 2013 article which showed this tacho (albeit in 10K form) installed on an unrestored '64 rally Cooper S which was in 2013 owned by the owner of TheMiniWorks. Presumably, the tacho has been on the car since originally modified for rallying in the 60s.

Would anyone be able to shed more light on this?

regards,
Andrew

Good early tacho, 3 terminal connections on back +xve, -ve & trigger to switched side of coil.

The needles are a bit wavy though.
