Re: old garages
Despite the Standard Triumph signage and Herald advert in the window which dates from April 1961 Allens converted to a Morris dealer in the 1960's. Like many an old BMC garage it became a Kwik Fit.
Below is the same site September 2014 - you can still just make out the tell tale signs of the NEW and CARS that were above either side of the door. The showroom seems to have been extended and the road made a lot wider in the intervening years. These buildings were demolished around 2017.

The power of accurate observation is commonly called cynicism by those who do not possess it.

My 1963 Austin 1071 S was originally delivered to Varneys on Jersey, does anyone have any info or pictures? It was first registered in 1967 in London as SYE 319F when re-imported. I wish I knew what the Jersey reg was! I bought the car in Cornwall in 1990, it had been club raced with a very blown up 999 Longman engine and LSD box

By the way the attachment I have just seen of Trelawny Garage was in Morrab Road in Penzance, my home town. It has only just been "scat over" (cornish) due to the inevitable asbestos roof

Re: old garages
Similar question as asked by roger649 really, my car a Tartan Red MK2 'S' TUT 214H was sold by H A Hamshaw in Leicester in December 1969, the car was used by the first owner around Leicester in the early 70s until they moved to Bournemouth where the car was sold on there.
It stayed around the Bournemouth area until 79 then brought to Lancashire where it still is and been in my ownership since 1983.
Just wondering if anyone has any knowledge about the car especially during the period it was in the Bournemouth area from 73 to 79 or even better photos of the car.

Late 50s Steve? I bet Bernie plundered the parts Dept at some point! . He’d have been about 50 when that photo was taken.
