Excellent work!
I have two questions for you:
1) What are the two holes for (that are plugged with small grommets) next to the brake master cylinder?
2) What is the part number for the large O shaped grommet that fits in the bottom of the round speedo binacle where the wiring loom and windscreen washer tubes enter the interior of the car from the engine bay? I can see it in one of your pictures.

Thanks for the words of encouragement guys, glad you like her , Etienne..the Ammeter was a lucky find at Beaulieu last year, i was looking for a Temperature guage but still haven`t found one so the Ammeter fills the gap for now, i was lucky with the wiring as a colleague is an excellent electrician and he worked out the wiring for me taking a main feed from the floor start button as it needs to be heavy duty wire.

Have done some more fitting up this week, cleaned up and fitted a good Mk2 steering rack, the John Aley roll cage is now fitted as are the rear pocket liners and the door latches. Also started pulling the Cooper engine to bits, good news is the engine is really good considering it hasn`t been touched for about 35 years!, i will get away with a glaze buster on the bores, new bearings, rings etc.
I was thinking of going for a cam upgrade, being old school i like the old 731 profile in a 998cc but my chances of getting one are pretty slim so do any of you guys know of a modern equivalent i could use?

I couldn't have thought of wiring the ammeter on the starter button myself !!
I have to think about this ...
Regarding you cam, I can't really help you, lack of experience, but I do not see real equivalent in the Kent range :

Some more progress pics for you guys ......
Steadily fitting up the interior now, l had to do the rear window swap-over routine on the offside as the original had split and the only spare i had was a nearside one, worked well though once i got the screws undone

Hi. Hope you don't mind me asking but would you mind letting me know how much it was to have the seat belt buckles and window runners rechromed? I live in Essex so I Kent not too far for me. Also who will restitch your seat belts. I have a set of Kangols I want to restore. Cheers. Mark

Hi Mark, no problem...the chroming wasn`t cheap because it was decent quality (having used cheap chromers in the past ) but well worth it for the peace of mind.
The entire job for the four buckles and two channels was just over £200.
Sounds a lot i know but when you see what those belts are selling for now i reckon it`s pretty good value

Time for another update guys......been busy fitting the subframes this week after cleaning, blasting and repainting all the components, (my tame mini genius Simon fitted new bushes and bearings in the radius arms for me) and the frames are now in place and looking good.
As some of you may notice i opted for the Smootha ride cones and Koni shocks which should make the car a bit more pleasant to drive on the Islands crap roads
Plus i managed to get the right hand tank in now that the shocks are on....

Just a couple of recent update pics for you guys.....engine and box is now under way,,,
and the nearside door is now fitted looks like i`m finally nearing the finish line with this one, just finances slowing me up now, and the need for a radiator cowl, next big expense is the Rose Petal wheels to give her the final look i was searching for

Thought it was time you guys had an update... finally finished the engine build, the steering wheel is fitted, and the horn works! (this was a result as the hornpush was missing and we had to bodge up a means of getting the spring action to work on the push-button, Simon to the rescue again on this, and it now works a treat
There you go, will post some more when i get her fired up...if i ever get time to fit the engine

Engine is now in , interior is nearly finished and most of the fitting up is done, so i thought it was about time for an update ...
