Mk 1 door hinge puzzle
Can somebody emlighten me as to which hinge goes where on Mk 1 doors. I have just gone to hang my doors and have no idea which goes where. I think all 4 differ and they appear to have single numbers cast in to them. Any help welcomed. Cheers. Mark

Marvellous. I had a quick scan of the numbers but it is in a bodyshop away from home and I only had a short amount of time to hang the doors. Thanks Bob.

Don't want to sound too patronising but if you take your time and look at the curvature of the hinges compared with the curvature of the doors, you can generally work it out in a few minutes which one goes on top and which side. Certainly if you get one wrong, you can see it straight away

i had a set of hinges once that someone had repinned and got the bigs and the smalls mixed up.

On the brass ones, where the big numbers...1,5,7...there are markings:
6818=RHTop
6819=LHTop
6820=RHBottom
6821=LHBottom
6818=RHTop
6819=LHTop
6820=RHBottom
6821=LHBottom

Re: Mk 1 door hinge puzzle
If I've managed to "lose" most, if not all, of the special tapered washers that go on the backside of the hinges, is that going to be a big deal? Can I hang the doors with regular washers on the back of the studs?
Thanks,
Warwick

Re: Mk 1 door hinge puzzle
You could, but most likely this would cause outward dimples / pulls on the doorskin next to the hinges, not good!
