Is the Capri ad genuine? (Lights/bumpers suggest USA spec?)
I would be surprised Ford could get away with that even back then?

I think US Capri's were Mercury branded not Ford - so I reckon that's a fake.

In case anyone is interested, I've translated the ad text from the Dutch one.

"A car to be seen in.

We're not going to tell you that a Capri makes you a more attractive man. You will get more looks when you're driving a Capri... but the curious, estimating, women's eyes are destined for your Capri. Women like to imagine how good they would look driving a car like that. And truly, that is the only reason why they would sooner sit next to you in a Capri than in an another car. This could be tricky for a married man. Because actually, we planned it as a car for a young family with such a generous rear seat. But oh well, when all this female attention get boring you can at least get away quickly. Especially with a 2 liter GT engine, or if that isn't fast enough for you there are 2.3 and 2.6 liter for extraordinary performance. A top speed op 185 km/h, for instance."

you couldn't make it up
Of course I know what a dipstick is, you get called something often enough you look it up!

Seen this on the net , It says The electric Egg , Designed & built by painter Paul Arzens in ( wait for it ) 1942 , France , now i got to thinking this is when the Germans occupied France , make your own minds up , but someone suggested it could be made from cockpits of crashed planes , Ali + perpex and he was cahoots with the Germans , Just Googled it and it says 1942 also made/designed a car called the Whale

The "EGG" has some nice workmanship in it. The other long streamliner "Whale" car looks likes an older generation FAB1 minus one set of front wheels!

A nice pic from the photoshoot taken at Goodwood for the first Mini Cooper sales brochure in May 1961.
The car has a dummy badge and grille pending a decision on whether to launch an Austin or Morris version first.

Having passed my 3 wheeler test in the ABC prototype at age 16....

In 1970 I also passed my test in an automatic....no one I knew had a manual gearbox car !!
So I went along in my Mk2 3.8 Jaguar and the tester spent the whole time talking about the car.

Suffice to say 3 years later had to take another test in a Manual Mini :D :D :D
