Nuts!...and bolts
I was having a tidy up in the workshop several days ago and moved my 63 mini, I havent touched it since getting it, well apart from rebuilding the doors, plus I have been too busy with general customers and jobs. However a momment of guilt hit me so once I finished the tidy I decided I would make a start and sort the drivers floor pan/inner sill.
Now I recall seeing these nuts and bolts at particular points on areas around the floor, however have no idea if it came like that from the factory or what purpose they serve, they are not holding anything and nothing as far as I can see has ever been attatched to them, they are just there, am not so familiar with the earlier models tbh, so any ideas? Oh, and as it happens I got a bit carried away and have basically restored the shell in the past couple of weeks lol working crazy hours, I seem to be addicted to getting it done, I will post some pics in the project section in time.
Cheers D.

Re: Nuts!...and bolts
I beleive my 61 has some of the above in both front footwells last time I looked.
The floorpan is still the original, well, 95% of it is.

Re: Nuts!...and bolts
The only nuts & bolts I can think of that should be in the floor are the 4 that hold the front subframe in & the two that hold the remote gear lever extension in, in a Cooper or S. Some early cars have a vestigial threaded stump in each corner of the floor these are left over from assembly & don't do anything.

Re: Nuts!...and bolts
Well sounds like the same as InimiaD's describing, there is two in the middle in the front floor pans where the floor meets the tow board, and two at the back, again centred near the heel board. I try to keep as much of the origonal floors etc as poss and only cut out what is bad then section the repairs in flush, I was going to remove these bolts but think I will keep them.
I think Mark is possibly on the right track, maybe they are for assembly reasons, that did go through my head to. All in all the little car was in better shape than I first thought, amazing for 48 years old. Worst part was bottom of rear panel and boot floor, other than that the 4 corners of the main floor and a couple of untidy repiars in the lower inner wings. Just waiting on the front end turning up and then its all prep for paint. Right off to take pics..

Re: Nuts!...and bolts
On closer inspection my 61 has 6 of the little blighters. They all look to be headless? bolts welded to a rectangular washer. The pics will make more sense.
1 in each front footwell.

Close up of offending thingy.

2 in each rear floorpan.

Original paint and no weld repairs.

Aye ! thats them, mine is exactly the same, so done from the factory then, and probs something to do with the building process I guess. I still have the no.tags spot welded on the two front floor pans, which I see you have on your still also. I have also noticed the high seat belt mounting points on it to, on that note what year was that was changed to the lower position?
