I have driven that car originally several times... Tommy was my best playmate when we were small children. We lived close to each other and in later years I hund around the workshop when it was built. The two brothers and their father were very very meticoulus in their work. Also helped by the fact the eldest brother were traing to become a mechanical engineer.... I drove it to 100mp but Tommy my friend had done over 210k

The car came with a late seventies Recaro LS seat, a nice seat, but very heavy an a little to modern for this car.
So I found this old seat in the basement

There is still evidence from the last Rally it did some 35 years ago in Faxe Kalkbrud. Faxe is the town, where they make Beer, but also have a large limestone quarry. The white stuff is everywhere under the car.

My father gave the permission for rally in that place...

The Borring Møller workshop built 1960, and now for sale

Spent many many hours there... scout events, early scout meetings... even got a scar on my hand when I put it through a window of one of those doors

Jan "motor" Mortensen, a legend in Danish Rally. Won the Danish national Rally championship i 1973 in a MK2 Cooper S, and went on with other BL cars Morris Marina 1.8 TC, Triumph Dolomite Sprint, TR7 V8, and then went to Ford with a Escort RS Turbo, Sierra Cosworth and Escort Cosworth.

Picture from yesterday, what a memorable day, the original owners of this old rally Mini, Tommy and Ole Borring Møller back in the car, for a quick test drive. The brothers developed and raced the car in the period 1977 to approx. 1984. Tommy's 30-year-old son got a drive in the car too. As a child, he used to sit in the car and imagine what it would be like to drive. All his life he has been told the stories of this fast little car, now it was time for him to try. Happy Days.

We took the Mini out this evening for a small rally test, and this time I was faster than my son, he had trouble with handbrake turns, which he had never tried before. In fact, the Mini was the fastest overall, up against BMW E36 with 500hp and MK2 Golf with 250hp VR6 engine. On the last test it ended with some twist and shout. Driveshafts should be old Jack knight.
