Powder blue carpet for a 65 car.

Post by Andrew1967 »

Does anyone have any decent photos they can post up of what powder blue carpet should look like, colour wise ?

As I understand it, the Newton carpet is not that accurate.

How successful is 'DIY' carpet over the ready cut stuff and notably the Newton moulded set.

Hi Andrew.
I've cut my own Veltone carpet using a set that fits correctly as a template. I'm not a fan of the moulded carpet in a MK1 but no doubt this type is all that Newton do.
Do BAS do anything?

Had a quick look and BAS do do a sky blue in their Heritage range but to me it doesn't look correct.

Also found this at CarpetRight ( ) but again, not sure on colour (or texture) !!

I'd be happy to cut a set, if I can find a good colour / material

I have here a couple of samples from BAS including that .. and it does not look like powder blue !!

What suits best before veltone would be a karvel type but powder blue! Will be really similar to originals type :) couldn't find of course...

Some details failing are specially a stitch are in the middle, this in 850 :) ! now mostly are now using the correct chocolate type.

Thanks Peter for your offer to sell :D

The carpet certainly looks promising to me. I just hope I do it justice. :o

Just don't find a Surf or Fiesta car in the future and then you wont regret it
