The more I look at it the more I think “standard Longbridge” may just suit me fine.

Honestly, it looks fine. Just a quick de-nib to take the new paint glare off - the 3M stuff is so good you can use it by hand.

A gallon of Waxoyl and it'll have road shite up the side of it in no time. Cars that are too nice to use are useless.

Oh, it will get used. No need too fret on that score. Even filling up with fuel is a round trip of 22 miles. Nearest mini mates 200 miles away.

D,
The paint looks really good on this car. Hard to tell from the pictures but that level of orange peel is easily knocked down with wet sanding.

If I could even get close to your results I would be happy.

Thanks for all the positive, encouraging comments and suggestions. Just the roof to go and I have some great local fish boxes to stand on. Easier than growing longer arms.

Apart from a few runs on the roof (I always have runs on the roof) it’s done.

I can now destress and enjoy the build.

Awesome result given the rough looking "spray booth".
I did a couple of paint jobs myself - with okayish results - although after my last attempt on my sons Vespa, he kindly asked me to have our Mini sprayed by professional
Yes I am a nerd: I am researching the Austrian Mini-racing scene of the 60s and 70s :ugeek:

Thanks for the thumbs up. I pushed on with getting it on four proper sized wheels. Two done two to go.

Looks fantastic David.

Just goes to show, you don't need an all singing workshop to get great results :)
