Hello everyone... this is my first post as an introduction to myself and the project that I'm about to start. I have owned this 1967 MK1 for about ten years now but did not do any work on it yet but that is about to change now.

I have finally found myself a nice place to work on the car.

The shell has been butchered a bit as a VTEC project but I will try to put it back to it's original state.

Looks like a good base, shame about the cut out bulkhead section

Good luck with the restoration. The suspension on that car should be hydrolastic so hope you have the sub frames. Magic wand gearbox. I'm restoring a 1966 Mk1.

I will be going for a dry suspension... I don"t have a gearbox nor engine at the moment.. It will probably become some sort of weekend track/fast road car... I'm not going for an all original restoration I suppose...

I will probably need a new bulkhead section to weld in where it is missing but cannot find a supplier for this. How would you giuys go about this? Would it be possbile to find this section somewhere?

You could try Leo at Moke Panels - https://mokepanels.com/product/ala-5516-cross-member/ - it's not cheap and the ends may not be the correct profile for a saloon but you only need the centre section to repair your crossmember.

The later crossmember from British Motor Heritage is a different shape in the centre - http://minispares.com/product/Classic/B ... 36003.aspx?

I don't suppose it will be easy to find the complete missing section (crossmember + bulkhead) from a scrapped car somewhere? Anybody any tips on this?

I'm going to start with building myself a rotisserie so that I can work on the shell in comfort. I just ordered myself a scaffolding pole and some 40x40x4 steel so that I can weld something together in the coming days... Will post some pictures when I start working on it.

Here’s mine, a real treat to work in an upright position.

Made from 50x50mm profiles, some 40x40mm angle iron and a 55x5mm seamless tube
with brackets so I could fasten it to the speedo hole and the parcel shelf.

Looks nice! My scoffolding pole has arrived - still waiting on the steel to start creating my own rotisserie... And also a good start to learn welding

Welcome and depending on originality, the later bulked is quite hidden below the carbs if that is the route you decide to take

Still waiting on the steel to build the rotisserie so I decided to start building up the rear subframe. As I do not have a rear subframe at the moment I ordered a genuine one from minispares and it has been shipped so hopefully here before the end of the week.

As you can see I already had some parts waiting on a shelf for this. Can't wait to start building up the rear subframe

Finally found some time to finish the rotisserie... now it is time to make a list of panels that I need to order from m machine and hopefully the brexit will not make it more difficult to order and receive parts from the uk
