Do you know what Glen, that’s exactly what I thought as I climbed into bed Sunday night!
I’m hoping that with the manifolds not on yet it won’t be too bad? Probably even easier if I have to whip the rad out

If you have small hands/wrists its sometimes possible to fit the cable, provided the top engine steady is not connected so that you can tip the engine forward.

Hmmmm I’d say I’m a medium to large there!!
But the manifolds and steady aren’t on yet so I reckon I’m in with some chance!
Plus I did clean up the speedo housing thread when I replaced the gasket so it’s fingers crossed
Just the bloomin’ rad to deal with for that fan then!

Radiator “whipped” out and fan turned around!
STILL forgot to put the speedo cable on before the rad went back in!!! Grrrrrr!!!
So a struggle “cuddling” the engine to get at it, but the threads were a little tight, so it was underneath with a screwdriver to coax it on notch-by-notch!!

Callipers blasted, stripped, honed and painted yellow - same time as the engine pulleys. Then rebuilt ready to go on.

Front hubs rebuilt, and nice new shiny bits bolted on.
Sent the wrong diameter split pins somehow? So ordered some more from another source. Coming together nicely

Steering column refurbished and “offered up”.
Changed the rear wheel cylinders from 3/4” to 5/8” after having a bit of a read up on here. Rear Hi-lows in, so it’s now able to go back on its wheels if it need to!!

Found pretty much all of the parts after 30 odd years in various boxes and different locations!!
Everything dated 1961!! The most annoyingly missing part is the ignition switch, can’t find that anywhere, so purchased one from the eBay and the switch panel is reassembled and fitted!
Painted in Old English White so it matches the binnacle.
Sound deadened the bulkhead and parcel shelf, makes a hell of a difference!
Love seeing it all come together
Loom starting to go in ( soooo basic it’s untrue!! ).

Well, been a bit crazy at work so no real chance to get my teeth into anything at the moment!
Cleaned up the door catches for a bit of paint.
Few dents in the tank, so a bit of repair and a skim of filler.

Managed to get the tyres on - not that I am quite ready yet!

Had a bit of a fiddle with a window catch to see if I could free it off and swap some bits over to a spare catch.
It’s a beautiful bit of engineering for a window catch!

Also found a bit of time to wrap the manifold.
Just hope there is enough clearance for the driveshaft couplings!

Last of all took the steering wheel home and washed it up in the sink. Looks to be in good condition, just got to find my plastic polish to hopefully bring it up like new!
Not quite so sure how the horn push will come up though?

Haven’t tried yet, but will the chrome ring come off without breaking it?

I always painted the Wheels in 2k black. The hornpush can be polished quite good.
