1962 mini door issue

1962 mini door issue
please help newbie here just became the proud owner of a 1962 morris 850 but i think i have the wrong doors i have wind up windows is this correct for this year if not can i change the door fittings to make it the sliding window that iprefer or do i source new doors i think the doors are of a delux model pos 1964 help please also my gear stick comes up near the front seats is this the norm for this engine gear box or is it not the origional engine gear box either if so i will have to source engine gearbox as well want all origional see if this is the case for both can anyone give me some contacts for said doors and enginegearbox swap or buy dont matter thanks lazza

It sounds like you may have a later car. Hello & welcome
If your doors are with external hinges (holes on the side of door) and rounded corners at the bottom, both front & rear, they are correct 1962 items.
But if the hinges are on the front edge, and the front bottom corner are square? you have the wrong doors
(unless the car has been "reshelled" into a MK III body ?

Your mini should have sliding windows and external door hinges, even if fitted with 64 doors. The gear lever should be long and come out of the front of the floor under the heater.

Do you have an Australian Mini lazza? It sounds like our Morris Mini Deluxe which came out in 1965.
