Is anyone having to login on each visit to the forum.

Despite checking the ‘remember me’ box I still get logged out every time I leave the forum.

On I-phone. Any suggestions for a fix would be appreciated.

Thanks

i had this problem. the issue was that iPhone was auto-filling the username and password from my apple keychain
in the process of doing that, it automatically clears the 'remember me' box

workaround is to tick the 'remember me' box, and then type in the username and password manually.
then it seems to 'stick' correctly.

This is not an issue with the forum it is caused by how / if your computer, mobile phone or tablet remembers cookies. These are bits of computer code that tell your computer that you are logged in and / or registered.

This is not a fault with the forum, it can only be addressed by changing the security settings on your own device.

Thanks for the confirmation Mark.

Oddly, I have no problem with auto login now via a google bookmark. It’s just the I phone safari login that won’t stick.

Just need to train my brain to stop using Safari now - that’s the hardest part

I have a issue with my iPhone on this site too

It started today..

I was on the site yesterday with no problems at all. I dont use auto fill, as every time I visit the site on my iphone (which is 99.9% of the time) I log in manually, and log out manually once I've read the latest threads that interest me.

So the problem I have is... I log in and the board index page comes up, and I can see I'm logged in, in the top right of the page my user name is displayed.

As soon as I click on any part of the site I get a page come up saying I must log in, and in the top right hand side of the page I'm now logged out?

it must be a silly setting somewhere, but I haven't changed anything on my phone settings and my phone wasn't updated over night so....?

currently I'm logged in on a laptop..

My iPhone is exactly the same as of today but I persevered with multiple logins and saw that it looks like it’s a safari thing as I’m now doing this no probs through google .
Expect us Apple users will have to wait for next safari update and use google in meantime !

Yesterday evening for me on the iPad kept asking me to log in , go to a page and asking me to log in again . Tried this morning and all ok and I didn’t have to log in either , so whatever it was it is now ok .

Yep same here. It’s a safari issue.

Download the google app and sign in and bookmark it. It’ll work fine every time then.

Just to confirm that since downloading the google app, logging in and bookmarking the page, I’ve not had to log in again. Definitely a Safari problem where there is no consistent work around yet.

In case this has anything to do with your problem:

If Safari is opening windows in Private mode, you will not be remembered for your next logon.

You can tell if your in Private mode because the URL text box will have a black background.

The Non-Private (Standard) mode URL text box has a light gray background and that’s the way you want it to allow it to “remember” you.
