paint detail

can some one confirm if the alloy door catch on the door post of a mk2 would have been painted body colour or not, along with the guide.

The picture is a mk1 for reference of the part.

Hi Iain,
My opinion is that they were painted. The clue here is there will be nothing but primer under them. It seems the cars were painted with all doors, bonnet etc fitted.
