Homemade carb heat shield........circa 1971

This is the heat shield that was on my dual HS2's. I guess that in the U.S. in 1971 it was easier to build something that worked then to try to figure out how to order the proper part. It worked just fine but was difficult to work around if adjusting mixture or replacing throttle cable. Life is so much easier with the proper heat shield and throttle cable guide.
