Yeh, commiserations Steve , kinda guessed you'd had some sort of mechanical when you failed to show at the MTC after petrol.

We did OK on the first card as well but my driver had developed a blazing headache by the time we got to the second, which, along with a stupid wrong slot and a few dodgy moments going across the tops , took the edge off things a bit. Reasonably pleased with our 14th o/a though, considering it was our first time out as 'Experts'.

PS. Nice to have a bit of a dice with you guys early on and thanks for overshooting that codeboard and allowing us a brief moment of glory in the 106 as we passed you - great fun!

Shame Keep us informed with regard's the problem ( when you find it).

In one word ' idler gear'. Well that's actually 2 words but whatever. Require new end casing , idler gear and thrust washers. New oil pump and it's 'grooved' the centre main shell , not journal , so quite lucky i suppose. Hopefully it will be back together in the next couple of weeks, doing the 'Illuminations' in october, 110 mile pre plot, start in Ambleside, Wrynose and hardknott passes are on. Orangebox was 7th in 63 and 2nd in 1964 on the 'lummies' so we will see what 2011 brings.

Oh and 'MINI' mag is coming to do a feature on it on the friday before the next rally.
