Bo'ness Revival September 5/6th

'As those of you who attended last week's Meet and Greet will know, the dates for this year's Revival have been confirmed as September 5/6. There will be several changes, the most obvious being that the hillclimb paddock will be relocated to the top of the course at the east end of what has previously been the classic showfield.

The classic cars will be at the west end (separated from the paddock by the Arena) and in front of Kinneil House. All of this provides more space for the hillclimb cars and gives their owners a chance to take part in Arena activities.

The downside is that it won't be possible to accommodate over 500 classic cars, as in 2019. The limit will now be around 300 cars, so if you'd like to bring yours along do take the earliest opportunity of registering.

Further information will be provided on all channels as soon as it becomes available. In the meantime, you might consider helping the event - and receiving benefits of your own! - by joining the Bo'ness Revival Club. Thats really great news! The only downside of Boness was the paddock. If it's moved to the top of the hill that will be excellent. Adam & I will be back in 2020.

one of the major pro's is the ability to run much bigger groups of cars apparently, and avoids the soggy paddock, but then if you saw how soft the showfield was last year....

Really disappointed about this one. I was hoping that it may still survive being so late in the year.

I think we will find the whole years events will be cancelled as making the arrangements for events is not going to be a priority, especially as it may have to be cancelled as the situation develops and organisers will probably find that no insurers will offer cancellation insurance.

Sadly, I also fear that is the case - the logistics of planning ahead is impossible - will suppliers be able to survive the period until future events, and will people want to pay deposits when that's a risk?

We are in for a grim summer, I fear, even once we get back to anything approaching normality. And even then, many folks will simply not be in the right headspace.

Viewed in perspective, it's not the big issue of the moment, but we could all use something to look forward too, I'm sure

I think we should all sit tight for now, but as soon as the government say we can meet up we should have small local gatherings at a pub or café. The Tan Hill is nice in the late summer and the roads there can be good fun. And what about the Borders viewing spot on the A68. There's lay-bys on both sides of the road and there's always a burger van there.
