Re: Croft Nostalgia Weekend & Historic Race Meet 6th/7th Aug
Well I have to say it was an interesting weekend
Arrived to meet Mr Fairweather Soldier drying out with an air of gloom but it stayed dry on Sunday
Practice ok on new engine. 1st race; didn't even make it over the start line on 4 cylinders
Back in the paddock head gasket diagnosed as gone but with 50 mins to go Niall and the Northern Cooper Register Job Creation Scheme leapt into action and got it done in 49!
Got a fine race from the back and had a whale of a time
HUGE thanks to all who helped
Commiserations to Mike Smith who didn't make it to the end both times
Waiting for pics to appear of the Imp that did the main straight with back on completely on fire

Here ya go Tim, photo courtesy of a mate of mine, Dave Ross
Re your car, i'm not sure we want to make a habit of it but we really enjoyed cobbling it back together in time for the second race and thanks for rewarding us afterwards with a particularly entertaining drive.
I'll post some more pics when i get a mo. and i'm sure Surfblue has plenty too but in the meantime i must thank everyone that supported our club stand and the organisers for putting on yet another terrific event for us all - it really does have everything.
Cheers, Niall.

It was a great weekend, I haven't had the time to get through all my pics, but here's a few for now.
Despite the torential rain on Saturday there was some enjoyable sights to see
3 in the afternoon, looks more like 9 in the evening
The Sunday line up on the MCR stand
Mike Smith cocks a wheel during practice
Andy Harrison in race 1 with a blown rad cap dumping coolant out of the overflow
The MCR crew stripping the head whilst Tim looks on
Roger Godfrey smoking the rear tyre on the arch
Tim having fun in Race 2
That's it for now, I'll let you guys know when I have loaded up the rest of my pics.
PS Nearly forgot, I've uploaded a video of the parade lap that we took part in.

Thanks for the pictures surfblue63.
Great shots.
I wish my car had gone as well in the races as it did in practise.
Ah well, looking forward to Oulton with some cooling to the clutch hydraulics.

Thanks for that Pete, that is before I could afford a MK1 grille and surround.
The car is for sale if you know anyone interested.
