I dont think they were "special" made just for the A series ?
My guess whould be, that Lucas made and adaptor, to suit BMC / Ford / etc
But I am shure someone inhere would know

this is the Lucas MK II Fuel Injection Metering Unit for the Triumph TR5, TR6 and Saloon 2.5 cars, in not well condition .... . Yours is the later one.
