Thanks,
I have used the original type oil filter housing just had an issue where the lower metal sealing washer was missing in both ones I had in stock, must be common to lose them, maybe stick to the filter and get thrown out, trouble is without it oil bypasses the filter, but somerford stocked them. Have found a pcv valve bracket on eBay so that’s on its way, also ordered the coopers decals for my filters. Think I have most things covered now so should get it running next week. Just weather put me off taking it outside today.

Not much of an update to look at, but have added the sound deadening to bulkhead and actually started the car, set up the carbs using a colortune which having never used one before found it pretty good, I had to rotate my distributor drive a little as must have been out of alignment but all ran fine and sounds pretty good, just need to fit my air filters now to finish off the underbonnet then bleed the brakes and clutch. Hopefully if all goes to plan will be back on the road this spring,
Finally feel like it’s coming to the end.

Well I got the brakes and clutch bled and double checked the mixture and timing, then fitted the air filters, not the best for flow but period correct, also drove it out of the garage for the first time in 22 years, felt good and gives me focus to finish it.
The air filters were awkward to fit due to the access to the bolts

And a quick view before I fit the bonnet, just want to get an sa12 coil now to finish it off, but no rush

Keep going, great job so far.You were a great inspiration to me whilst doing my Mk 2.Even though you’ve got other Minis you will love it. Finished mine this year & although it’s 35 years since my last a Mini I am quite smitten by it. The more I drive it the better it gets. Looking forward to track days & some Hillclimbing next year.

Thanks for comments, I hope it gives me as much enjoyment as my 62 850, I bought my rocker cover from someone on here a couple of years ago I think, was cheaper than a genuine rough one and gave me the look I wanted.
Inflation of hydro suspension is next job on the list, hoping for no leaks, although have tested the units so will only be the connections to worry about.

Another update I was looking forward to, finally pumped up the suspension, luckily I have a pump to make life easier, used all new fluid so hopefully ok, had a little leak on one valve, so replaced that and all appears ok, will leave it to settle and adjust as required, but finally feels like it’s getting finished, bonnet next I think, then a good clean a a bit of flatting and polishing on a few areas of the paint, will not be perfect but I think I have achieved what I wanted from the car

Tracking needs setting now ride height is correct but shouldn’t take long to get set up

Finally got a little enthusiasm to do a little on the car, just fitted the grill, bonnet and bonnet strip.
Only a few little jobs left now but really finding it hard to motivate when I can’t take it out anywhere.
Hope you all keeping safe

Well managed to do a little more, only cleaning, a bit of flatting and polishing and the tracking left, along with removing rear bumper as I am going to modify it to five bolt to pull it more clear of hinges, then I can paint hinge screws etc.
Really pleased with it though just need to consider getting it insured and put a few miles on it to solve any minor issues. Although not expecting too many as everything has been checked or replaced/rebuilt as required.

Really happy with my number plates.

Had to refit my gold coil as it misfired on the old ha12 I had,
