They could have done a better job of keeping folk informed, certainly, as we had no idea of what was going on up in the courtyard.

But, a good day otherwise, and as usual, fun to catch up with pals.

Roll on Goodwood!

I honestly thought they were going to call it a day, the body language of the various marshalls / coc blokes was very negative, they also had a medical emergency in the paddock at the same time!

If I'd been there myself it wouldn't have mattered too much but didn't want my dad hanging around for all that time, too far for him to go back to the car to wait for the restart. The marshalls didn't appear to be in much of a hurry to clear it up. I left when they deployed the fire extinguisher to try to dry it up.

Sounds like it all kicked off after we had departed for the South.

We had a super weekend at Bo'ness, only disappointment was that we were watching as opposed to driving.

It was great to catch up with a few mates & enjoy the surprisingly good weather on Sunday.

Sounds like someone was using that synthetic coolant. It's a total bugger to clean up & is very slippery indeed.

my thoughts as well, they tried, absorbent pads, straw,! powder, and sand and it still was there.

Overall a good day but due to that massive delay we left before the second timed run had finished, the final nail in the coffin being the marshalls and media standing right in front of where i and others were taking photos
Still last mini to leave the showfield though.

Well Where do you start !
The rain on and off before Saturday was the start of problems for the organisers. Saturday was very wet but the helpers and marshals worked through and we had a good day testing the nerves in the wet with no stoppages.

The Sunday was expected to be wet but turned out quite good with the sun drying the track as the day went on. I think the problem was we were all trying to better our Saturday times. Early on during the second practice a single seater lost control and hit the wall beside the paddock top gate. The driver was ok.
In the afternoon another car hit the bails at old paddock bend and promptly dropped a sump full of oil and coolent on the track. The medics were dealing with the driver and the tow truck was on track to recover the car when another medical emergency happened in the paddock, so the recovery truck had to abandon its recovery to allow the paramedic ambulance back down to the paddock.
While all this went on the ambulance went off to hospital, the car was recovered, the oil dealt with, then the MSA wanted to cancel the day because of the skid risk. The MSA were persuaded to allow the drivers to continue after briefing the drivers on the situation. The ambulance returned, then the racing restarted.
From then on, the day got drier and the times got faster. The day ended with just hundredth's of a second between 1st and 2nd place, with Duncan Hopkinson winning.
I would like congratulate the Bo'ness team and marshals for getting through the weekend making it a success against all odds.

Sounds like I missed most of the excitement!

I have great sympathy with the organisers regarding their difficulties, particularly in view of Adam's recent antics at Harewood.

No one wants a meeting to suffer accidents or ilness, but these things can happen & the Marshalls & organises will always do their very best in what can sometimes be very difficult circumstances.

Hope the person suffering the medical emergency in the paddock was OK?

And good to see you yesterday, Iain.

There was no mention of any persons hurt or unwell at the drivers briefing so I take it from that everyone was ok.
