My old friend Eric Patterson called with me on Friday night and gave me an original Kane of Comber Downton rear window sticker. Eric worked in Kane's for 37 years. It is 18-inches wide and 3.5-inches high. It is green and orange and reads ANOTHER DOWNTON CONVERSION Official Agents and below that PERFORMANCE and ECONOMY. What age would this sticker be is my question?

Almost certainly 1968, but certainly after that date, as it was about then that the slogan "Performance & Economy" was first used.
Would also dearly love to see a pic or two.

Very hard to photograph given the brown cover paper is still on it. Would these be hard to copy?

I have only ever seen pictures of that sticker.
A Very, Very rare find indeed!

It all depends on whether Supersonic is happy sharing a decent scan with me. I'd not be interested in doing them unless it was right.

I would be more than happy to donate this original Downton sticker to the Mk1 Performance Community Group. All I would ask is that I get two reproduction stickers as part of the deal. It would be next week before I would be able to post this to Mark. I would send it by Royal Mail recorded delivery. I would be happy to see the reproduction stickers make some much needed funding for this forum group.

Many thanks Alan you are a gentleman.
I would like to have two reproductions.
One will be in my 1973 mk3, the other
in my collection of Downton things.

I would like for my 997 that was new registered in Bournemouth, so not too far to travel to get my Cooper Downton converted back in the day ( if only
)
ok for me if the finished repro had some pat & tina look to the finish display.

Yes that's the picture I was putting on here.

about the sticker on the window.
