998 cooper
Just bought this 1964 998 cooper which has been stored in a shipping container undriven for approx 25 years . Has had a restoration before being put in the container . Engine still runs but clutch and brake master cylinders are seized and need replacing and l would imagine the clutch is stuck to the flywheel too . Not a spot of rust anywhere on this , still retains it's original pathetic 7 inch discs but for some reason the stainless trim around the doors is not present and Cooper interior has also been replaced with what looks like a riley elf interior for some reason . Was owned by a BMC dealership service manager who did the restoration and probably also did the period engine mods too the engine being fitted with a 1300 head and 1.5 inch SU's , original paperwork showing all owners from brand new in 64 came with it also . Is dressed with an austin grille and badges , but according to the heritage certificate it was a morris cooper ..............some people just prefer the austin look perhaps ? .
