Late March
I welded up a mount for the rear subframe, but had to mount the frame in order to drill the mounting bolt holes.

Then I dug out the old rear subframe and mounted it. It's heavy with all the suspension components attached!

Holes drilled, job done.
By April I welded on the lower panel with jack mount and epoxy paint inside and painted the outside.
(Almost) The whole bottom got a thin coat of gloss black epoxy.

Rear side got a homemade repair panel (but it was made from the old side from Peter's car, and therefore almost original)

I finally welded on the battery box repair. It was a lot easier than changing the whole box, and I'm happy I did it this way, but it's not very original looking. It won't rust nearly as fast!

Then it was time to start on the dreaded Front wheel wells.

Re: 1964 Rust project again
April I was fixing all the holes in the glove shelf panel and firewall.
then I finally (after owning this thing for 10 years) got around to putting the "new" lower dash face on.

The top dash panel was rather bad also with cuts, welded over the ash tray, and old instrument panel welded onto it. I ended up welding the holes closed and grinding it as smooth as possible.

Compare to when I bought this car

Then in early May I actually got the rear valence plug-welded in place.

I can't imagine why they would have cut holes in the bins. I just welded them up. Easier.

The whole bottom of the car was badly covered in "rust protection". It actually scraped off easily enough.

The entire front is cleaned up, holes repaired, straightened, reinforced for driving lights etc.
