there used to be a guy in Hull who had an e-type fitted with a four cylinder bmc petrol engine, he used to drive around trying to 'pull the birds' in it.
with no silencers, slow excelleration and a top speed of about 30 mph, i bet it was a blast!

My uncle used to make a living 'doing up' cars in his garage and sticking them up fro sale on the main road outside his house, he used to buy E-types, MGBs, various Lotus etc in the 70s when they were cheap, fill them full of filler and flog them on. I wonder how many, if any, where at Silverstone this weekend.
