One of Denmarks first Mini racing drivers, and co founder of Denmarks first Mini racing team has passed away.
Ove Scharff was head of sales at Morris dealer "København Auto Centrum"
In 1964 he and 2 junior salesmen started the team "KAC" who had Roskilde Ring, as their "home track" -
Ove Scharff was a personal friend of my parents, and a real "larger than life" guy.
After his racing career he lived as a deep sea diver for many years.
In his later years he came back to Denmark, and ran a auction house, together with another famous Mini racing driver.

Rest in peace.

Re: Obituary
Hi Pete, and thanks.
You (of all) would have got along great with Ove, he had a great sense of humor, and liked the good life
I remember one year, Santa came with a nice big Red toycar for me, but not long after he had left, did we recive a phonecall.
It was from Ove, he had skidded of the road, and landed in the ditch.
The car sat buried in a big pile of snow, and was undamaged -
but he needed help, to get the car back up on the road.
I asked if I could come along, to see "uncle" Ove - to my surprice was it just up the road from our house.
Ove was trying to dig out his car, and I noticed he was wearing Red trousers, and clogs -
confronted with that - his location, and the logic of a 6 year old, he had to admit, it was him that posed as Santa.
