Used Mspares alloy race head....exellent!
Well it wasnt with the ATB as Mark predicted ...but plate diff now fitted and down to 72 sec, Avons fitted now so no excuses for not going 71

I reckon the Avons are at least 2 seconds quicker once you get used to them.
I think my best on Avons has been a 70.13 or thereabouts. I keep thinking I'm going to do a 69 & then get all giddy

You are absolutely right Nick, the magic does seem to be in the compound. It sticks from more or less cold & doesn't appreciably "go off" it is well worth getting them scrubbed in a bit to begin with though.

Its the compound and the much stiffer tyre wall (that doesn't allow them to 'roll over' the same).
You can feel the fact they are softer and sticker just by holding them. Not that it'll affect hillclimbing, but they do have a limit with standing water if its about 1/2" deep
I love the fact they look like some shitty cross-ply!

Yes group 2 arches from Somerford mini ltd
Required some work to get fitting nice before painting, but are well made with good definition around the screws.
You can fit them with a rubber seal supplied, but I've gone for bonding them on as well as screwing them.

Getting the chrome finisher to go over the new arches was the biggest task, which involved trimming the width of it where it meets the arch .. allowing it to stretch a little..before bonding it on.
