What carpet did you go for as I used the bas international veltone in my mk2 and it needed very little trimming, but the newton stuff in my mk1 needed trimming in a few places, car looking good though now

Carpet is Newton, wish I’d have gone for the BAS now!

Getting closer now, Blyton is definitely do able! This weekend the bonnet release has had a freshen up, the stainless trim is fixed in place, the front screen is back in and the moustache ends are on. Inside the original dash vinyl has been applied and I’ve managed to find a really nice pair of irvins. Engine is progressing this week and will hopefully go back into the car during the Easter holidays.

Called over today to see how the engine build is going. Great progress is being made and it should be coming back next week to be painted and then fitted into the car.

Wow, really coming together now. Have you sorted a dipstick tube as I think they are fitted to that engine aren't they?

Always nice to see someone put the effort into a tuned small bore engine, rather than just bolt on a 1380.

Big step forward today with the return of the new engine! Blyton looks really doable now.

I used Somerford dark green spray Steve although speaking to Rich this morning he reckons it’s too dark! It’s painted now and not getting another coat!

Bit further forward today. Engine now sat in the bay and secured after a battle with the new engine mounts! Brakes bled and adjusted, remote and gear stick on and exhaust in place. Hopefully will get it fired up for the first time tomorrow.

Looks great Tim 8-) 8-)

One thing I have learnt with engine mounts ... the new ones don't fit at all well, if at all !! .

I buy as many NOS MOWOG stamped ones at auto jumbles as I can find ;)

Almost there now. There’s a few bits and bobs to sort with the engine and wiring but the car will definitely be at Beaulieu and Harewood. Also bought a period Don Parker trailer to make sure it gets to where it should be! Not a trailer queen!

The style of that trailer is VERY similar to my own 'Mini' car trailer Tim.

Can you post up some more pics of it, including the suspension set up and the draw bar ?

I thought mine was a home made affair ....
