Cheers Dave. Hopefully it will be back in the garage by the end of the month. Then need to start getting it ready for Blyton!

That's amusing... I had a set of (brand new) Michy ZXs on my S back in 70 ..and that would be my exact description of them

Stunning progress and loving those Cosmics. Set off beautifully by the grey bodywork.

Cheers Andrew. Car is coming home in a couple of weeks once the bodywork has been completed. The engine is then being finished and the interior, Dulles, speedo etc are being fitted in my garage. I’m hoping that it will be up and running for the end of March.

Thoroughly enjoyed reading through this thread. Great work on preserving the best bits and adding your own touch.

My '65 has just been painted Almond Green, however it wasn't as nice an original car as yours so i'm making a few changes such as 1275, 7.5 S brakes, D1's etc. Still trying to keep it period but not hiding the fact it's not original :)

Went to Bingley today and picked up a fantastic set of original brocade taken from the same car. This has cleaned up really well and with a little repair work it will look really good. Also collected a Lucas SA12 Sports coil which has never been fitted. DPU comes home on Wednesday so the fitting up can begin.

After a year away from the garage, DPU came home tonight. Still quite a way from being finished but at least I can be doing bits and bobs whilst I’m waiting for the engine and the paintwork to get done. Couldn’t resist fitting the first bits of brocade and Tartan Red. I’m really pleased with how it’s looking so far.

Bit more done tonight, swapped the MotoLita wheel for a 15” Les Leston and fitted the 120 speedo bought from Andrew. Just need to get the Dulles fitted now.

I'm after a LL wheel just like that.
I don't have a Mini to use it on, just to hang on the wall.

Managed to get the brocade fitted today. I’m really happy with how it’s gone in. The 50 year old panels protested a bit and I’m not that pleased with the wheel arch covers but it’s the best I could get it.

Keeping on chipping away at bits and the transformation of DPU continues. I managed to fit the original boot script from AKY today. I’m really pleased with how good it looks - there’s no going back once you’ve started drilling! Next up are the bonnet badges. Does anyone have the measurements for the holes?
