Well finally a dream came true.
Found the car already end of february this year. mad the man an offer. But no was the answer. Lost hope after that never hearing of the man again. Untill last week. It's still for sale if I want to buy it. Well yes. So since last friday i'm the owner of a MK II 850 from 25-10-1968
Will show photo's tonight.

As promised.
I found it in February like this:
Last monday it was already a little cleaner and more empty:

More about the car:
25-10-1968 first register.
bought by his current/ex owner in 1980. from around 1985 put away for restoration. That never happend.
found end of february 2011.
more to tell yes. Bought by De Putter in Almelo (NL) 2 years later my parents bouhgt their 1st mini of the same dealer. Also an 850 but a MK III. Orange with black roof.
From around 197? it was used as a slalom car here in Holland. In 1980 De Putter went bankrupt. One of the mechanics bought the car and started afterwards his own business. Always wanted to restore the car but never had time for it.
So hopefully I can complete it. But have no plan in what time it should be finished. Saturday I can pick up the car then we really can see how the car is.
forgot. The car is almost complete but comes with Glider 1300gt engine.
Roald.

Thanks Andre & Kees.
But he started as Total. But last years it's Avia. Have to look more around at AVIA stations. Maybe there are more mini's left.

Re: MK II 850 1968
More about the car.
It was used for slalom racing from around 1975 untill 1985. Won several championships. The car was put away in 1985 and not touched untill 1994 when the his son started to dismantle the car. Al the loos parts went in marked boxes and put away. So when we started to unpack last saturday we opened a time machine. Including some nice photo''s of the last years as the car raced it's last slalom.
Some nice period products came with the car:
Morris mudflaps
Works style Rollcage
3 point harnasses
period racing seat (sorry but not mini but from a fiat)
the lampbar with 2 lamps
Dunlop wheels(5) complete with the D on it. I had a set but not as compleet as this.
So all the right bits from the car came with the car. So restoration can start, but when it is finished I dodn't know.
Here are photo's of it's last season.
The car in front didn't survived the day it crashed.
It''s not the ex/owner in the car. This was the Driver Jan Odendijk who won some championships with this car.
Maybe there is more to come to this story.
But I''m in a doubt now? Should it be rebuild as a proper 850 MK II or rebuild it as it was during it''s longest time as a slalomcar. Al the right bits are in favour of the last choice.
