KAD rear discs
I have been thinking recently about the KAD rear disc conversion for my Traveller (amoungst other performance upgrades over this winter). Has anyone heard any reports (either good or bad) about these?

Re: KAD rear discs
I've recently bought a set and the only real improvement I think is weight and aesthetics. Don't get me wrong I LOVE kad stuff and they work really well but in my opinion you don't want to be improving the rear braking performance, if that's what your after be aware doing that can make your car very dangerous! To much braking effort on the back is a no no! However if you like the novelty factor and that they look shit hot then treat yourself.
Another thing to mention is the way they are designed is in such a way that you may get some chatter of them due to the way you set them up to work! As they run with you setting the clearance between the outer pad and the disc. Also hand brake turns are out the window, kad say this. Have a read through there site and speak to one of them, Adrian is very helpful.

Quality is good. Useful? Not unless you are in some type of competition class that allows them (so you can save a little weight), or you are after "pub points". Mini's are already set up with methods to limit braking at the rear, so what's the purpose of discs?
These are high on my list of I have better ways to spend money on Minis.

Re: KAD rear discs
Thanks for the comments guys. To be honest I had thought about it simply as an asthetic thing and not for any other reason. True enough about the extra braking force on the rear (oh and I wasn't intending on doing any handbrake turns with the Traveller anyway!
).
Think my mind has been made up to spend that money elsewhere in the car!
