Dumb Question about Oil Cooler Brackets

I thought that the brackets fixed only to front valence (3/16 bolt) and the folded lip (self taper) on the front panel.

I note that on some of the Minispares literature that it says the brackets bolt on to the subframe.

Have I missed something ?

If the question is about the original fitting of the oil cooler that was centered behind the grille, there were no attachements to the subframe.
