He's bloody 72 or something isn't he ? Most of us will be drooling down our fronts and having our bottoms wiped by the time we're that age let alone racing ! Amazing bloke really.
Whizzo in in good company;
He still have some years ahead of him if he's to beat swedish legend Erik Berger... he's 85 (!!!) and still kicks the young 'uns ass with his Escort RS1600.. Not even he's son gets an easy win....
there was a guy called Tom Delaney who used to race in vscc, he was about 95 and still had a comp licence! - he had raced tha same car for about 60 years!
please note, these are my own, individual sales, nothing whatsoever to do with my employer, minispares
Tom Delaney was a lovely bloke. We had his other Lea Francis Hyper in the showroom for a while. It was an ex works car and I think his father had owned either the company , or one of their main supliers. Tom had a real twinkle in his eye when he introduced me to his 'girlfriend', Lulu (no, not that one) who must have been at least 75, but had obviously been real a looker in her day.
Tom had a pretty nasty shunt in his mid '90s but I think he came back to race for a couple of more seasons and only gave up a year or 2 before he passed away.
Wizzo has a few good years in him yet. I believe he thinks he is 21!

Wasnt he the guy, who was in that BBC television program, about old people driving ?
Think it was a ERA he had
Whizzo out this weekend at big Superprix meeting at Brands in E type at least (not sure if anything else).
Glad he's not in the Saloon race as it's always embarrassing when he gets straight out of something rear wheel drive and then into front wheel drive and within 1/2 lap he's on the pace
