I have a question about 970 S con rods.
I got two NOS ??? 970 S rods today
They came in olt taddy blue/red BMC boxes.
The number on the boxes is AEG 309
The rods seem to be never used, but have some rust.
But the cast in number has been removed, the AEG is still there.
On the piston side a number is stamped, something like AEG 810 ???
The rods are longer than standard 1275 ones.
Who can help me ????
970 s con rods ???

Re: 970 s con rods ???
If they are marked AEG177 and indeed a bit longer than the 1071/1275 variant, then they are for a 970.
Too many cars...

Re: 970 s con rods ???
The number has been removed because that was for the 1071/1275 rod.
Number is probably AEG 310 , one away from part number as is the normal BMC way.
