help making homemade oil catch tank

Post by Jamie »

Hi
Currently i have a breather and the rocker cover breather pipe being fed back into the twin carbs via a four way adaptor (2 pipes from the breathers, then two pipes to the carbs)....carbs and the engine are off a 1300gt and this is how they were connected when i bought the engine (was all still on the 1300gt subframe).

Been thinking bout making a oil catch tank instead, would this be better? or should i just leave as is.......the engine is only lightly tuned........
I have got an old 1 pint Castrol can, so i was thinking i would need a couple of pipe fittings to screw into the side or top of the can to attach the hoses from the breathers too, then should i just remove the cap and use gauze there or fit a little aftermarket breather where the cap was?

or maybe there a better way of doing this?

also the two pipes at the bottom of the carbs where the breathers connect too, shall i just run a pipe between them once this is done?

thanks for any advice/help!

i used a Castrol can mounted on a bracket on the inner wing. I had tubes trom the rocker breather and clutch breather which I pushed into the neck of the can and drilled a load of holes in the top of the can to let the air out.

seemed to do the job.

thanks thats just what i needed....looks like it will take me longer to make a nice bracket up!

shall i just run a bit of pipe between my carbs where the breathers were connecting back to, to plug them up?
