I know in theory this shouldnt be done....but why not. Could I still run the SRS element of the ECU but bin the ignition and FI?? Just thinking for the future.
Does the block even have a hole for the dizzy drive or could I use the coil pack, trigger and something like a mega jolt or DTA?
Converting MPI to carb!!??

Re: Converting MPI to carb!!??
it would be easy to do, but you would have to use an aftermarket ecu and loom. it would probably be easier to mount the pickup on the pulley as most aftermarket stuff uses a 36-1 method of counting where the mpi doesnt.
the specalist components system is very good, and they have devloped a ecu to 'map' a spi, so it may be worth having a word to see if they are working on an mpi version.
the lack of dizzy hole is no problem.
the srs uses its own ecus though, but i dont know how this interlinks into the main engine ecu (or even if it does)
