Yes KPO. Lionel stuck the number plate on his race car for Goodwood and thats the only reason I recognised the number on the original that the cheeky builders (who were rebuilding a wall next to it) were flogging off on Ebay. I contacted them and told 'em it wasn't theirs to sell and if it wasn't for Mick Brough legging it down there they definately would have! Scooby Doo eat your heart out..

Last night I was watching an old BFI film from 1965 called 'The Pleasure Girls' with Ian McShane tooling round Kensington in a nicely modded earlyish Mk1, naturally I paused the dvd to have a proper shuftie at it, as well as the Webasto sunroof, Styla wheel trims and spinners, Benelite grille etc it appears to have vinyl or leather covered top and bottom dash rails, extra gauges and unusual looking cloth seats + door trims similar to the 997 Cooper prototype seen a Goodwood in 1961 (the door trims are much clearer in the film)...

Is there anything less fearsome than the police in a VW microbus? I mean, some Dutch guy on his three speed bike can outrun that get up.

I assume the VW microbus was filled with shovels and rakes and other implements of destruction...Brits get that reference?

I dunno, I think it would still be close enough for oddsmakers to call it an even bet.
