Gallet Trophy for Under 2-litre Touring Cars (pre '66)
Just as its modern counterpart, the U2TC race for pre-1966 under two litre Touring Cars is highly competitive and always popular with spectators who love to watch the sideways style of driving and the David and Goliath element, as the Minis dart in and out amongst the bigger cars.
With its strict eligibility criteria - cars must conform to their genuine period specification with no modern add-ons – U2TC produces a grid of evenly-matched performance in each class, where driving skill comes to the fore. It is hardly surprising that it attracts mostly hardcore racers, both historic and modern, whose car preparation and driving skills are put to a real test.
Cars you can expect to see racing out on track include: Alfa Romeo, Austin Mini Cooper, BMW, Ford Lotus Cortina, and Morris Mini Cooper.
The U2TC will run on:
Qualifying - Friday (pre lunch)
Race - Sunday (pre lunch)
The grid will race out of the National Paddock and you'll find them at garages 1-2.

Transatlantic Trophy for Pre '66 Touring Cars
The Transatlantic Trophy returns to the Silverstone Classic again in 2018 providing touring car racing as it used to be, 60s-style!
Pre-66 Touring cars are the ultimate crowd-pleaser, with grids containing road-going mass production saloons built prior to 1966, Masters Pre-66 Touring and everything from the mighty V8 Yank tanks to humble Minis... all raced spectacularly in mini-endurance races with pit stops for one or two drivers.
With a class structure broken into engine size, Ford Falcons take on Mustangs, Lotus Cortinas tackle the BMW TiSAs and Minis super Coopers three-wheel their way to success.
Qualifying - Friday (post lunch)
Race – Tin Top Sunday (post lunch)
The grid will race out of the International Paddock and you can find them at garages 17-22.

Re: Silverstone Classic 2018
Going with my dad tomorrow, really looking forward to it.
As Graham says, a great event with loads to see and do, also really good value if you book tickets in advance with a car club and display your car.
