MK2 Heater

Post by morris-miner »

I am sure there are plenty here that can answer my question with ease.

My MK2 saloon was registered 14/08/68, can someone please tell me what style of heater it should have as I have seen many later cars with MK1 type heaters. And although it is fitted with a MK3 one at the moment I am keen to keep it as MK2 correct as possible {even though it has been in a MK3 'shell since the early 1970's!!!}

Many thanks in advance.

My April 69 car has a plastic heater, I've not seen a change point specified which could explain why some cars built after yours had the metal type. Parnell states exact change point unknown but approx Aug 69, that seems far too late though unless it should be Aug 68 which would seem more accurate.

Mk3's getting a metal heater, as the case has cracked around the rear bolts.

I had a mk2 which was an H registration so it would have been Aug 69 on, and it had a plastic heater.
I also had a J registration june 1971 mk 3 it had the metal box.

The plastic heaters will be quite rare.
