Good to see, in the comments attributed to Pat Moss (I doubt she wrote it), the reference to Group 1 (at that time - not right to the end of that Appendix J and certainly not under the later App J) allowing Perspex windows (it was on "safety grounds", not officially "to save weight").
I have lost count of the number of well known historic rallying authorities who have sought to deny this whenever I have mentioned it elsewhere.

Pre 64 Perspex windows, trim panels removed and lightened bonnet and boot was the norm in Group 1 for the Abingdon cars, 848,997,1071.
