My car came with fleck door cards etc and black trim. Cam Luke's has plain door cards and rubber mats. No idea if they would have changed them once back in the UK. Cam luke's car has slightly later style front seats like found on 1960's Morris with 4 wide flutes in top to bottom

Amazing they would send a mini about 13,000 miles then back again.. Surely that's the profit margin gone? :)

Out of interest how did you find out your car came from NZ? Must be a interesting story behind it

Hi Brook,
I am pretty sure black was not a standard colour here. Your story is interesting, had the car been on the road in NZ before it went to the UK?

Rear shelf in cream crackle is common for many NZ CKD cars.

I think hes talking about the Parcel Shelf color AL. Black would be correct as far as I know. Not much is known about the CKD cars.. heck not much is known about the UK ones either.

Brook. You should buy the book 'Minis down under' Once you get past the author loving himself its quite a good read. Talks about the launch in Feb 60 here and how popular they were. I'm very surprised they sent a batch back because it says they couldn't get enough and in the UK the launch wasn't so spectacular.

James, you posted same time. Shouldn't you be at work? :) The early cars should not have cream crackle but a plain grey material. (this is to my knowledge) maybe Bill can help on this one. I think crackle came in 1962 ?
