I did think about Marigold and even a 'Downton' livery, given the engine mods, but I think it's just too obvious, and the original Marigold was an early van.

I'm now thinking B.Butcher would be a good idea.

A HOLE ...........

If it stays yellow, a set of bright red tartan seat covers would look good. ;)

a rummage in the loft produced this, the spec sheet I got when I bought it in the '90s

I was sure I still had it, and Jennifer calls me a hoarder who needs to throw more stuff out?????

Anyway, makes for interesting reading (and a shopping list - I plan to replace the seats and wheels in due course)

I always find it amazing the price we had to pay for good Cooper S disks back in the 80's & 90's.

That is a lovely bit of history.

So lucky to get re-united with a past vehicle, i will be following your thread with interest. :)

On a separate note i was surprised to see the name Hadrian, i thought they had been swallowed up by Imperial, as mentioned at the top of the page in the link below.

Though it probably all links back to Imperial, they must still be using the name.

Looking at the rear load bed panel, am I right in thinking the construction detail cross section is as in this sketch? To properly replace the sides of the load bed (or indeed the whole panel) you'd remove the rear vallence and it is spot welded between it and the side panel lower edges

It's a bit of a patch work of past repairs, so I'm trying to work out what the original detail was like

nothing a load of fibreglass, newspapers, chicken wire and some thick underseal wouldn't fix

for that 'authentic' 1980's mini van restoration!

If anyone has an underfloor photo of the rear end of an original or restored van it would be very useful.

ha ha, yes, it's a busy day at the office!

I found these photos: https://hiveminer.com/User/Austin%20Min ... ion/Recent

which are dead handy as I was unsure if the boxes above the front rear subframe mounts should be joined by a box section across the car, but gladly they are not.

Al,

I have got some photos where I'm replacing the lower quarters (and one quarter), the load bay edges, rear step and valance, in various states of unbuttoning and buttoning back up. I'll send them over if you are interested?
